High School Blood Drive Scholarship Program
Show Leadership! Give Blood…Give Life…
This scholarship was established to recognize excellence in participation in the high school blood drive program with Stewart Regional Blood Center. High School students donate approximately 20% of the blood collected annually. It is important that the blood center begin to educate our youth early, while still in school, in an effort to procure life-long blood donors. This scholarship will be awarded to an East Texas graduating senior, within the 24-county region served by Stewart Regional Blood Center, who plans on attending a post-secondary institution (e.g. colleges, universities, community colleges, institutions or technical centers).
- Resident of an East Texas county
- Graduating high school senior
- Maintained a grade point average of 2.5 or better in high school studies
- Demonstrated outstanding personal leadership among his/her peers by participating in the coordination of the blood drive program at respective high school (high school must be a participating member of the blood drive program with SRBC)
Each scholarship awarded will be $1500.00
Scholarship funds will be awarded as follows:
$1,000 Awarded to the student for college tuition assistance, books, etc.
$ 500 Awarded to the school for use in their senior graduation activities (ie. Project Graduation, etc.)
